Ms. Compton’s English classes had a fun and festive day celebrating St. Patrick’s Day! ☘️
Students enjoyed reading Green Eggs and Ham by Dr. Seuss, then got creative by writing their own rhymes about where they would NOT eat their least favorite foods. The creativity and laughter were nonstop!
To top it all off, students had the chance to try green eggs and ham—just like in the story! 💚🍳
A great day of reading, writing, and hands-on learning!

Music isn't just a subject—it’s a universal language that builds community, boosts brainpower, and gives our students a voice.

From the first squeaky notes in elementary recorder class to the breathtaking performances of our high school ensembles, music is the heartbeat of our hallways. This month, we celebrate the dedicated educators, Mr. Langolf and Mrs. Reynolds, who inspire our students and the young musicians who fill our schools with harmony!

March is Women’s History Month! Behind every great student is a village—and a huge part of ours is powered by incredible women! Let's celebrate the pioneers who paved the way for our students today.

From the laboratory to the library, women have consistently broken barriers and redefined what’s possible. Our goal is to ensure every girl in our hallways sees herself in the stories we teach and the leaders we celebrate.

🎨 March is Youth Art Month! 🖌️

Art isn’t just an elective—it’s essential. Art education develops the critical thinking and divergent problem-solving skills our students need to thrive in a global society.

From the first crayon stroke to advanced digital design, our art programs help students:
Build a better quality of life through self-expression.
Develop a unique "voice" in their community.
Prepare for a future that values innovation and creativity.

Join us this month as we celebrate our young artists and the incredible educators who guide them!

Ms. Compton’s History classes spent the month of February learning about and celebrating Black History Month! Students researched famous Black Americans and explored their many contributions to our country and society.
Throughout the month, students worked collaboratively in small groups to create posters, timelines, and PowerPoint presentations highlighting influential leaders, innovators, activists, and artists. They also created a hallway display to showcase their research and share their learning with the school community.

It was a wonderful month of learning, reflection, and celebration!

Last week KW FFA joined FFA chapters across the nation to celebrate National FFA Week. Students enjoyed a spirit week, FFA themed trivia, FFA scavenger hunts, and even culminated the week by hosting our Virginia State FFA Officer Team to KWHS! State officers led our students through a thought provoking activity in which we considered what our "true north" is, and why it matters to us. Thank you to all who participated in FFA Week 2026!
